Nguyen Ha Giang - Global Citizen Program in Indonesia

Hey everyone! For those who hasn’t made up your mind yet whether to go exchange or not, I just want to tell you that: “It’s a decision I never regret!”

Only 6 weeks abroad but I can feel a strong, vibrant, powerful change inside myself! I think different, I act different!

Somehow, in the middle of a busy day, I still recall those little beautiful memories when I’m in Indonesia. June 1st - July 17th , 2013…

I remember the warm voice of Ibu Ernie, the Head Mistress of the nursery we have been teaching at. She was always caring about 4 of us, tried to make us feel comfortable during our time there. On our last day at the nursery, she cried her eyes out saying goodbye and writing sugar cubes for us. A moment touches my heart that how beautiful it is when people from different country, different nationalities can be so close to each other :)…

I couldn’t forget the faces of my students, the litle kids at the nursery. They are sometimes noisy, sometimes naughty too hehe, but I love seeing them every day in my class, shouting out to answer my questions, singing, dancing so crazy! They make me feel that I’m doing something meaningful, some little things that help people :) …

And sure I miss my EP friends, 2 from India, 1 from Vietnam! Sometimes during the project, we had little fight and conflicts, but when it come to the ending day, we felt so much connected and sympathetic with each other! Sweet memories stay everywhere in our hearts that remind us: when we start to listen to each other, we start to understand each and love each other :)

Exchange is where I discover myself, where I start wonderful friendships, and where I learn to make positive changes! Looking back when I was in May, I am proud of myself to have made that diffcicult decision, and to have been committed to that dificult decision! Couldn’t express how thankful I am to AIESEC Danang for having given me such an opportunity to challenge myself! From deep inside my heart, thank you :)!
